Fat wool - wool in fleece (healing wool)
Our fat wool (healing wool) is untreated sheep wool with a residual fat content of about 2-3%. This residual fat content is the so-called wool wax (lanolin), which has skin-caring properties. The wool is washed without chemicals, using only warm water, soap, and soda, so that the beneficial lanolin remains in the wool. After washing, the wool is carded, meaning it is combed into a fluffy fleece that can be used in various ways.
Traditionally, healing wool is used for inflamed and/or oozing wounds, inflamed nipples, diaper dermatitis, and pressure sores.
Application possibilities:
Baby and child care: We recommend caring for the baby’s bottom with honey cream after cleaning. A small piece of fat wool can be placed over it. This care can be done preventively with every diaper change. If cotton diapers are used instead, babies have fewer to no red spots in the diaper area. For oozing or open wounds, it is advisable to place a cotton cloth between the wool and the wound.
Note: The wool is compostable
